HIV ORAL HEALTH PRECEPTORSHIP PROGRAM
New York & New Jersey
The New York State Department of Health-AIDS Institute Oral Health Resource Center, in collaboration with the Northeast/Caribbean AETC, offers a unique chance to participate in an HIV Oral Health Preceptorship Program.
HIV Oral Health Preceptorships are available for licensed dentists, dental hygienists and primary care clinicians in New York, New Jersey, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. These programs are individually tailored to meet the needs, interests and experience-level of the individual provider. Preceptees are matched with an advanced level preceptor that will provide a one-on-one training experience. Sessions generally run from one to five days and are available to persons with very little HIV experience, to those looking for a more detailed clinical experience in HIV care. Preceptorship sites are located in New York and New Jersey. Travel and tuition for the program are fully covered by a grant from Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). Continuing education credits are available to participants in collaboration the New York State Dental Foundation and the New York Dental Hygienists’ Association.
