COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Course Instructors: Frederick More, DDS; Carla Hogan, JD; and Lance Plunkett, JD
This course fulfills the NYS ethics and jurisprudence mandate for dentists. This course on ethics and jurisprudence (3 MCE Credits) is designed for the experienced practitioner. The focus will be to apply the principles of ethics and elements of jurisprudence in a way that is highly applied to the practitioner.
The course will also act as a reinforcement for structure that supports the practice of dentistry and protection for the welfare of the public.At the end of this course practitioners will have the ability to:
-Recognize ethical components of conflicts that occur in the practice of dentistry.
-Define alternatives when deconstructing situations where ethical principles can be applied.
-Evaluate and consider alternatives when faced with a ethical conflict.
-Apply regulations, standards, and professional expectations to real life ethical conflicts.
