To keep this new feature interesting we need your help. There are plenty of dental heroes and heroines out there, but we need your
help in recognizing them. Let us know, simply by e-mailing us that person's name, contact information and, briefly, why you think
he/she should be recognized. We'll follow up and do the rest.
The Foundation pays special recognition to those individuals whose contributions to the dental profession and patient care far exceed
duty and expectations. We salute individuals whose efforts and sense of community should be noted by the entire profession. Please
join us in recognizing the good work that's going on all around us, throughout the state, by members of the dental profession.
Honor Roll for 2007
Every year the New York State Dental Association and its Foundation recognize members who have submitted continuing education to
the NYSDA CE Registry for recording. The credits are accumulative from their first submission as a new member through December
31, 2007.
Recognition levels for continuing education credit hours are 50, 100, 300, 500, 1,000 and every 500 credit hours thereafter. Earlier this
year, 1,078 awards were given to members who reached recognition levels. NYSDA and NYSDF both salute all those who received
awards this year. Below are the names of members who reached top honors this year with 1500 credits hours and above:

Dr. Madeline Ginzburg
Usually, when a child receives a tube of
toothpaste as a present from a stranger,
it’s not much cause for excitement.
Thanks to Madeline Ginzburg, DMD,
that’s not the case at the Life and Hope
Association Orphanage in Siem Reap,
Cambodia.

Dr. Michael Adsit
When Michael Adsit was growing up in
Boonville, NY, his dream was to become
an Air Force pilot. “Something about
flying always gave me a thrill,” he said.
But those dreams quickly faded. Adsit
was born with a hearing loss that requires
the use of hearing aids.

Dr. Frank Carberry
The NYSDF proudly salutes Frank J.
Carberry, D.D.S. for his work and
dedication in the development of dental
disease control programs in areas where
quality treatment would not otherwise be
available. Dr. Carberry is a founding
member of the NYS Dental Foundation.

St. Joseph's Neighborhood Center
A community- based organization
committed to providing quality care to the
medically uninsured or underinsured may
well be considered a “God send.” At least
that’s how many perceive St. Joseph’s
Neighborhood Center.

Neighborhood Center.

Dr. Frank Andolino
Hard economic times affect everyone.
Imagine those at the bottom rung of the
global economic ladder, the poor who
always suffer the most. They must
depend upon the global community to
achieve solutions to meet their most basic
human needs. Hope was not an option
for many, until Kageno and a New York
City dentist stepped in. Learn more about
Dr. Andolino and Kageno.

The beauty of this trip was the opportunity to share and to get to know the
Hondurans. The trip was intense physically and emotionally but a lot of good
experiences and information were obtained. Learn more about this trip.
