Happy New Year from the New York State Dental Foundation from Dr. Edward Downes, Chairman
At this time of renewal, the beginning of a new year, I'd like to take a moment to thank each and every one of you for helping to
grow our Foundation. So, here is a hearty thanks to:
- The many NYSDA members who have generously donated to the Foundation. You are the heart and soul of organized
dentistry, and your contributions signify your understanding of how the Foundation's work enhances the image and goals
of the profession.
- Those organizations which submitted grants to the Foundation for purposes of enhancing academics or research. As many
of you know, 2006 was the first year in which the Foundation was able to bestow grants to two organizations, SUNY
Canton and Hudson Valley Community College, and we look forward to growing our giving program.
- All of you who have visited this, our new website, and taken the time to let us know what you like and how you think we
could improve it. Our website represents just one of the ways in which we hope to continually communicate to you, our
supporters, what we do.
- The many organizations, corporations and institutions, including but not limited to AmeriChoice, Sullivan Schein, Medical
Liability Mutual Insurance Company, Procter & Gamble and Citibank, who graciously have helped to underwrite our
programs.
- NYSDA leadership, for support of and commitment to our mission.
- The staff of the New York State Dental Journal, for ensuring that news of the Foundation is in each and every one of its
issues.
- Last, but certainly not least, the hardworking members of the Foundation's Board of Trustees, for their time, commitment
and dedication.
On behalf of our Board, we look forward to a healthy and productive 2007, and heartily wish you and yours the same.
