Foundation, NYSDA partners with Fifth District to Dazzle at the 2007 State Fair

This year, the Fifth District Dental Society will run its own booth at the New York State Fair, from August 23 through September
3, where it will provide dental health care information and advice to the hundreds of thousands of people who each year visit the
Syracuse event. And those efforts will be assisted by the New York State Dental Association and the New York State Foundation,
who have partnered with the Fifth District in order to enhance the overall message of good oral health. In an exciting departure
from the traditional booth, the Foundation was able to secure the presence of dental vans from Colgate’s Bright Smiles/Bright
Futures program as well as the Eastman Dental Center.

The BSBF van will be on hand on 30-31 August. The Eastman van will be at the Fair on the 31st. Both vans will provide dental
screenings and disseminate educational materials.

The Foundation is underwriting the cost of bringing the vans to the State Fair.

We are so happy to have the opportunity to assist the Fifth District in its efforts to raise awareness about the importance of oral
health care,” explains Foundation Director Laura Leon. “This is a great example of how the Foundation can work with various
parts of organized dentistry to promote our common goal, and I really hope that other components will give us the chance to do
the same in their own districts.”

Says Amy Pozzi, executive director of the Fifth District Dental Society: “The New York State Dental Foundation has come
through for us once again. The public will now have two opportunities, and two locations within the confines of the fair. It couldn’
t have worked out better!”
